SLEEP TIPS
Consider these tips for a more restful sleep tonight:
- Keep regular hours. Try to go to bed at the same time each night and wake up at the same time each morning.
- Exercise regularly. Regular exercise can help relieve daily tension and stress.
- Reduce your coffee intake. Stimulants like caffeine can make it difficult to fall asleep.
- Sleep on a mattress that's right for you. If your bed is too small, too soft, too hard, or too old, you're likely not getting your best night's sleep.
- Don't drink alcohol right before bed. It can interrupt and fragment your sleep.
- Create a restful place to sleep. A cool, dark room free from noise is ideal.
- Unwind early in the evening. Deal with your worries several hours before bedtime.
- Never go to bed on an empty or full stomach. An empty stomach can cause physical discomfort; a full stomach forces the digestive system to work overtime.
- Develop a sleep ritual. If you do the same things each night just before bed, you train your body to recognize when to settle down.
