ANCASTERNEWS: ROYAL MATTRESS HELPS SANTA SLEEP UNDER SHIELD

Published on Dec 14, 2007
After many months of sleepless nights, Santa Claus and his elves have found their perfect mattress. After receiving a "Dear Santa" letter from their biggest fan, Ed Polanski, Royal Mattress shipped 1,000 Redline mattresses to the North Pole for Santa and his elves just in time for Christmas Eve. From their Meadowlands store in Ancaster, Mayor Fred Eisenberger was on hand at the Royal Mattress store to help load Santa up with the Redline mattresses.

"Santa came down to our factory location complaining his mattress was getting old and really lumpy, and he and Missus Claus couldn't sleep because of it," said Phil Kriszenfeld, owner and president of Royal Mattress, "He also complained he could never find mattresses that fit all his elves' shapes and sizes. So I told him it was no problem, we've been custom-making mattresses for our customers since 1967 and we would do the same for each and every one of his elves."

The Redline is manufactured in Ontario by Royal Mattress. Its bold red and white colours signify its strong Canadian roots and it matches Santa's suit, making it the perfect fit for the North Pole. In addition to helping Santa and his elves sleep better, Royal Mattress is donating a portion of the proceeds from sales of the Redline to the Salvation Army in Hamilton for their annual Christmas Kettle Campaign. Not only will Santa and his elves get the rest they need, but they're also helping a good cause.

"We believe in our community and we want to do everything we possibly can to spread a little holiday cheer this Christmas," said Kriszenfeld. "We just hope everyone will pitch in and help the Salvation Army continue to do good work around the city."

A replica of Santa's mattress will be on display at each Royal Mattress location from now until Christmas. Visit www.theredline.ca or www.royalmattress.com
